Kavita Tambolkar
Born in 1971 in Belgaum, a small town in Karnataka, Kavita has had a keen interest in painting since her childhood. She developed her painting skills while completing her graduation in Bachelors of Commerce (Bcom) in parallel. While exploring various formats like landscapes, portraits, folk art, etc. throughout the years honing her skills with utmost dedication and experimenting in multiple mediums like pencil sketching, charcoal, pastels, water-colors, oil, acrylic, on glass, canvas, fabric and ceramic, she has now found her niche in “oil on canvas”.
The concept of Emotion-Scapes is Kavita’s brainchild built and evolved over the years. The urge to create original artwork started with a vibrant depiction of her innermost feelings where within each painting resided either a carefree daughter, a loving sister, a graceful lover, a dutiful wife or a caring mother.
The boundaries of this creation have slowly evolved and loosened up their structural rigidity over the last decade; opening up from well-defined structures and simple articulations to more complex obscure and metaphorical interpretations. Her journey thereby as an artist and dedication to her originality of emotion-scapes still continue - getting better with each new stroke of the brush on the canvas
