Ganesh Singh
Ganesh Singh is a self-taught artist specializing in expressive landscape abstraction executed exclusively in acrylics.
Holding a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSc IT), Singh's background subtly informs the geometric discipline and underlying structure found within his intuitive artistic process.
My practice is fundamentally defined by the exclusive use of the palette knife. I employ this tool with deliberate, physical force to sculpt and aggressively layer the paint, resulting in a dense, highly textural impasto surface. This physical method creates a rugged, almost geological topography on the canvas, which instantly communicates the raw, kinetic energy and enduring structure of the natural world.
I utilize a heightened, non-naturalistic palette of vibrant, saturated hues, consciously departing from literal representation. These powerful, chromatic choices serve to translate the intense visceral emotion and atmospheric pressure of a scene rather than its photographic reality.
My perspective is often inspired by a broad, panoramic, bird's-eye view, capturing the expansive, abstract geometry and underlying patterns of the landscape from an aerial vantage point. Through this unique knife-edge abstraction, I seek to foster a dynamic, emotional engagement with the landscape's wild, untamed spirit, offering the viewer a powerful tactile and visual experience.
