Anand Narain
Delhi-based artist. Did BFA from College of art, Lucknow followed by MFA from J M I, New Delhi.
Narain has many feathers in his cap in his own credit which includes annual award from UP state Lalit Kala Academy in 1995, Lalit Kala Academy Research Grant in 1991 and the Annual award by Camlin Art Foundation in 2001.
He showcased his works regularly by having Solo exhibitions and participating in National and International events. Narain held Fourteen solo shows to state here : at Lalit Kala Academy,Lucknow, 1987, AIFACS Gallery, New Delhi 1988; Lalit Kala Galleries, Rabindra Bhawan, New Delhi 1989, Triveni Art Gallery, New Delhi 1993; Sridharani Art Gallery, New Delhi 1995; Triveni Art Gallery, New Delhi .1998 , Triveni Art Gallery, New Delhi 2009 and ICCR Art Gallery , New Delhi 2010. Curated the group show “THE CONFLUENCE†of 14 artists from different states at Rabindra Bhawan, New Delhi in Dec, 2011.
He also had more than Forty group shows in major cities of India and abroad like New Delhi, Calcutta, Bombay, Bangalore, Lucknow , Jakarta and Moscow. He has been participating in many major Art Exhibitions such as 4th International Exhibition in Moscow, 1988, 34th National Exhibition organized by Lalit Kala Academy, 1991 ;54th National Exhibition organized by Lalit Kala Academy, 2013; 38 Contemporary Artists of Uttar Pradesh by U.P State Lalit Kala Academy, Jaipur 2015; including two group shows by Gallery Art Heritage, 2014-2015.
Adding a great importance to his artist profile are his participations in various Artists Camps like Golden Triangle Eye [Delhi, Agra, Jaipur] art camp by Welcome group in 1996; Communal Harmony Artist camp by JMI in N.Delhi in 1992; Artists camp during Kala mela organized by Birla Academy Calcutta in 1993; Camp during Rashtriya Kala Mela organized by L.K.A in 1994; Artist Camp at Gwaliar MP in 2009; All India Senior Artist Camp by AIFACS New Delhi in 2010; Artist Camp by Chinar Foundation in 2010; Artist Camp by FIPA at PSK New Delhi in 2010; Artist Camp by Alumni Association College of Arts & Crafts, Lucknow in 2011; Regional Artist Camp at Silchar,Assam by LKA Regional Centre, shilong in 2012; All India Senior Artist Camp by AIFACS New Delhi in 2012, 2014; National Artist Camp at Roreich Centre, Manali by LKA, Delhi in 2014; Artist Camp at Kumbh, Prayagraj by UP State LKA in 2019

His enormous range of art collections is in India and abroad.
He has also played a significant judging role as he has been there as a Jury Member of National and State Level Scholarships, member of Interview Board (appointments) and also as an examiner in various institutions for higher education.
Anand Narain is the explorer of untouched nature. He creates which is undone yet. His creative soul travels through real world and finally reaches out his own magic planet to come out with his original ideas which is very close to reality but in abstract symbolic form. His deft use of the brush and sober color application brings a unique richness in his works.
Apart from painting, his writeups and poems have also been published from time to time in various papers and magazines.
He lives and works in New Delhi, India.
