Description
This interior scene stages a quiet drama of thresholds: two doors stand ajar like hesitant decisions, holding back the night while admitting only a measured breath of its chill. Warm ochres and carved geometric panels suggest domestic order and memory, yet they are pressed against a bruised blue wall that reads as emotional weather—restless, brushed, and unresolved. The crumpled red-etched form in the foreground becomes a proxy for the body’s vulnerability, a presence that cannot fully settle, as the barren silhouettes beyond the openings turn the outside world into a sparse, watchful emptiness. In the tension between ornament and void, the work speaks of refuge that is never complete, where home is a corridor between safety and the unknown.
