Siddharth Shingade

Siddharth Shingade creates a personal language, populating his surfaces with tall figures that appear to be wrapped in history, with a million stories to tell. His choice of palette resonates the intimate relationship he shares with his homeland, Marathwada in India. The deep browns and golden yellows draw upon the warmth of its climate as well as its people. The mood in his paintings however is somber, perhaps a reflection of the oppression faced by his people & more so the women of Marathwada.Educational Qualification: 2008 Diploma in Art Education (Dip.A.Ed), Sir J J School of Art, Mumbai 2006 Diploma in Painting, L S Raheja School of Art, Mumbai 2000 Art Teacher Diploma (ATD), Latur, Maharashtra SOLO EXHIBITIONS 2008 Anitya, presented by Gallery One at Epicentre, Gurgaon, Haryana GROUP EXHIBITIONS 2008 Gallery Pradarshak, Mumbai 2007 Gallery One, Bangalore 2007 Gallery One, Gurgaon 2007 Tulika Art Gallery, Mumbai 2007 Veh Art Gallery, Mumbai 2006 Gallery Pradarshak, Mumbai 2005 Gallery Pradarshak, Mumbai 2004 Gallery Pradarshak, Mumbai PARTICIPATIONS 2007 Monsoon Show, Jehangir Art Gallery, Mumbai 2006 Chatak, Monsoon Show, Nehru Centre, Mumbai 2005 Chatak, Monsoon Show, Nehru Centre, Mumbai Awards: 2007 Bombay Art Society, Mumbai 2007 Maharashtra State Special Award 2006 10th Kalavrat International Art Festival Certificate, Ujjain 2006 Art Society of India, Mumbai 2006 First Prize, Indian Royal Academy, Karnataka Royal Shield 2006 Kalayatri Award from L.S.
