The composition assembles a fractured settlement of rooflines and faceted blocks that seem to rise like memory fragments from a dense, earthen field, where crimson and umber accumulate into a weighty ground of lived experience. A veiled, chalky sky presses down with scraped whites and cold blues, softening the architecture into a haze that feels both atmospheric and psychological, as if the city is being recalled rather than observed. The repeated angles create a restless rhythm—order continually forming and dissolving—suggesting the tenuous balance between collective habitation and individual isolation. In its abrasion of surface and muted light, the work reads as a meditation on permanence eroded by time, where the idea of “home” flickers between refuge and ruin.
