Description
Suspended between anatomy and artifact, the work stages a quiet dissection of identity: a dark, hovering head tilts downward as if contemplating the ornate, corset-like form below, part ribcage, part reliquary. The restrained palette—soot-black graphite against bruised pinks and watery greens—lets light behave like memory, pooling in translucent washes that soften the clinical outlines into something intimate and uncertain. Circular apertures and repeated rivet motifs read as both wounds and mechanisms, suggesting a body engineered, protected, or repaired, where vulnerability is rendered decorative. In this tension between tenderness and precision, the piece becomes a meditation on embodiment—how the self is housed, restrained, and continually reassembled.
