Description
This graphite-and-wash study distills a human visage into a field of intersecting vectors, where crosshatched shadows behave like emotional weather—gathering, breaking, and reforming across the face. The composition withholds clarity on one side while burdening the other with dense, almost architectural darkness, suggesting a psyche split between disclosure and defense. Scraped lights and bruised greys create a fragile interior space, as if the portrait is less a likeness than a record of pressure, memory, and erased speech. The handwritten inscription at the bottom anchors the image like a witness statement, turning the drawing into both confession and document.
