Description
This sculptural form collapses the familiar into the primordial: a heavy, folded mass that reads at once as shell, body, and terrain, as if time itself has compressed matter into a single quiet gesture. The scorched umbers and bruised charcoals carry a patina of weathering, allowing light to skim the ridges and settle into creases like memory caught in sediment. Its closed, inward curl suggests both protection and exhaustion—an object turned back on itself, holding a private interior that the viewer can only imagine. In that tension between softness and heft, the work becomes a meditation on endurance: beauty not as polish, but as the accumulated evidence of pressure, heat, and survival.
