This work stages a charged dialogue between a sun-baked field of ochre and a scatter of black, calligraphic marks that read as both language and interruption. The thick, tactile ground holds light in its ridges, while the dark strokes cut across it like pauses, crossings, and half-remembered signs—suggesting a map of movement rather than a fixed script. Compositionally, the eye drifts in a loose grid, repeatedly caught and released, as if meaning is forever forming and dissolving at the edge of legibility. The piece becomes a meditation on how systems—writing, boundaries, rhythms—try to contain the luminous disorder of lived experience.
