Description
This work stages the human figure as a weathered terrain, where ochres and burnt umbers seep like mineral deposits across softened contours, turning flesh into landscape and memory into sediment. A pale, fissured vertical passage cleaves the composition, functioning as both scar and conduit—an aperture through which light struggles to articulate what the body refuses to confess. The close, cropped framing compresses intimacy into unease, suggesting a psyche caught between warmth and erosion, desire and disappearance. In its porous textures and staining bloom, the painting reads as an archaeology of presence: the self held together by traces, not certainties.
