Description
This ink drawing stages a dialogue between the monumental and the intimate: a vast, seed-like vessel—part lamp, part cocoon—holds a suspended flame that feels both protective and precarious. Sparse white space and measured stippling turn the form into a quiet shrine, while the dense, ornamental deity below anchors the composition in devotional gravity, suggesting tradition as a grounding counterweight to drifting thought. The contrast of airy shading against meticulous patterning implies a passage from inner illumination to outward ritual, as if belief is being distilled into a single, hovering point of light. In its restrained monochrome, the work reads like a meditation on containment and release—how the sacred can be carried, and how it insists on being seen.
