Description
In these paired figures, the body is stretched beyond anatomy into a theater of psychic pressure—limbs knot, torsos fold, and the head becomes a mask where a fixed grin reads as both defense and fracture. The artist’s muted browns and bruised reds seep through smoky layering, turning negative space into a kind of suffocating atmosphere that presses inward, as if memory itself were the room. The compositions hinge on contortion: one stance teeters toward motion while the other collapses into a self-embrace, suggesting a cycle of struggle and refuge, desire and recoil. What emerges is not narrative in the literal sense but an intimate allegory of endurance—how the self negotiates confinement, transforms pain into form, and insists on presence even when distorted.
