The Union Oil Still-Life Painting

Set within a hushed field of blue-green, the assembled vessels—metal bowls, a lidded pot, a bottle, and a solitary spoon—read like remnants of a recent ritual, their presence defined as much by absence as by form. The artist lets cool light skate across reflective surfaces, turning steel into soft mirrors that dissolve edges and bind objects into a single atmospheric breath. Composed in a quiet arc, the still life balances weight and emptiness, suggesting domestic endurance—how everyday tools hold memory, labour, and modest dignity long after the hands have left. The restrained palette and blurred contours transform utility into contemplation, making silence the true subject of the work.
