Description
Rising from an intricately carved, totem-like plinth, the inverted head reads as a quiet act of disorientation—an invitation to reconsider where dignity, identity, and “uprightness” truly reside. The dark patina absorbs light in velvety gradients, letting subtle highlights skim the cheek and brow so the face feels discovered rather than declared, as if memory is surfacing from within the material. Against the pedestal’s ornamental density, the head’s simplified volumes become almost meditative, setting up a dialogue between inherited pattern and individual presence. The work ultimately holds a solemn tension: a figure both rooted and unsettled, suspended between ritual monument and intimate psychological portrait.
