Description
In this diptych, the same serene face is held between two kinds of gravity—one cradled by an unseen hand, the other suspended upside down among falling blossoms—creating a quiet meditation on surrender and release. The flattened, patterned green ground reads like wallpapered memory, against which the warm, rose-lit skin becomes a candle of inward attention, eyes closed as if listening rather than looking. By repeating the visage while inverting its orientation, the artist turns calm into a question: whether peace is granted through care, or achieved through letting the world drift past in delicate, inevitable descent. The composition’s gentle symmetry and soft tonal modeling suggest that intimacy and impermanence are not opposites here, but two complementary ways of being held.
