Scorched Mixed-Media Landscape Drawing

This finely hatched monochrome landscape centers on a gnarled, wind-shaped tree whose twisting grain reads like a living record of endurance, turning time itself into a visible texture. Around it, the hills and distant peaks settle into quiet, rhythmic bands, while the sky’s swelling clouds—softly modeled yet insistent—press a sense of vast, impersonal weather against the solitary organism. The composition stages a dialogue between rooted persistence and atmospheric drift, suggesting how presence is forged not by serenity but by continual exposure to forces beyond one’s control. In the spare palette, light becomes an inner resonance rather than a spectacle, allowing the scene to feel at once desolate and reverent.
