Description
Rendered in incisive black line, the seated drummer becomes a study in concentrated momentum—his crosshatched torso vibrating as if the rhythm has etched itself into muscle and breath. The doubled, mask-like faces hover like echoes, suggesting the way music splits the self into performer and listener, presence and memory, all within the same beat. Against the spare white ground, the patterned cloth and the triangular motifs on the drums act as visual percussion, repeating and sharpening the tempo while the splayed hands hold the composition in poised, communal ceremony.
