Description
This intimate sculptural vignette stages companionship as a quiet rite: two uniformed figures lean into one another on a shallow porch-like threshold, their bodies forming a protective arc around a raised hand that reaches outward, as if trying to capture proof of belonging. The muted, earthen architecture—marked by a small cross, a hanging pouch, and folded cloth—anchors the scene in domestic ritual, while the saturated blues and reds punctuate the clay with the stubborn brightness of lived identity. With faces intentionally withheld, the work redirects recognition away from portraiture and toward gesture, proximity, and the tender choreography of support. Even the small bird at the edge becomes a witness, suggesting that everyday moments of care can feel like prayer in a world built of rough, weathered surfaces.
