Description
Two cats—one white, one black—sit like quiet sentinels upon a plinth tiled with national flags, their paired stillness turning the pedestal into a stage for identity and belonging. Behind them, the wallpaper of repeated feline silhouettes and alternating tones becomes a visual chorus of conformity, against which the cats’ individualized gaze and tactile fur assert singular presence. The stark chiaroscuro of their bodies reads as a meditation on dualities—innocence and opacity, visibility and erasure—while the bright, patchwork flags beneath suggest a world of mapped borders that cannot quite contain the intimacy of coexistence. In the lower red band, the pattern darkens into a soft alarm, hinting that even the most domestic harmony unfolds under political and cultural pressures that repeat, multiply, and persist.
