Expressionism, Layered Portraiture, Jungle Foliage, Psychological Tension, Chiaroscuro, Entanglement, Muted Greens

A dense thicket of angular, leaflike marks closes in around three faces that surface like half-remembered witnesses, their expressions caught between fatigue and resolve. The palette—cool greens and bruise-like purples—presses the figures into a humid, claustrophobic space, while a harsh, pale flare through the center reads like both illumination and erasure. Fine linear “threads” stitch the composition together, suggesting unseen forces—memory, history, or surveillance—binding the bodies to the terrain and to one another. In this uneasy fusion of portrait and undergrowth, the work becomes a meditation on how identity persists even as it is swallowed by environment and circumstance.
