Description
A monumental, mask-like visage hovers in the center like a suspended icon, its lacquered darkness absorbing light while the gilded facial tracery suggests memory etched into skin—both ornament and scar. The saturated red field reads as ceremonial ground, pressing forward with devotional heat, while the mirrored beasts at either side function as guardians whose poised symmetry turns the image into a threshold rather than a portrait. Script-like bands along the margins frame the scene as a kind of untold mantra, implying that identity here is not individual but ritual—assembled from protection, power, and the quiet violence of beautification.
