House On A Rock Mixed-Media Landscape Drawing

Perched on a sheer, ink-dark crag, the small yellow house reads like a fragile promise held against an overwhelming expanse, its domestic geometry made startlingly vulnerable by the vertiginous drop beneath. The gold ground—at once luminous and weathered—functions less as sky than as a field of memory, flattening space so the scene becomes an emblem rather than a place. A leafless tree unfurls beside the dwelling, its roots exposed and cascading like nerves down the rock face, suggesting that what sustains us is also what leaves us painfully visible. In the tension between radiant warmth and stark linework, the painting meditates on endurance: shelter as both sanctuary and precipice.
