Description
Suspended within a rotated square, the figure reads like an anatomical relic crowned by a lantern—an uneasy altar where illumination becomes burden rather than salvation. The muted, ash-laden atmosphere compresses the space, while the central crimson grille suggests a silenced mouth or caged breath, turning the body into a vessel of restrained speech. Taut arcs stretch outward like bowstrings or tethers, their red tongues of fabric flickering as fragile signals against a storm-washed ground, implying a psyche pulled between propulsion and surrender. The work stages a ritual of endurance: light is present, yet it hovers above the self like an imposed icon, asking what it costs to be seen, guided, or “kept alive.”
