Eviction 1 Mixed-Media Figurative Painting

A dusk-heavy haze presses down on a labyrinth of corrugated roofs, where the settlement’s jagged geometry becomes both shelter and fracture—an architecture of survival assembled from repetition and repair. Against this cool, bruised blue-grey field, small figures ignite into presence through sudden embers of orange and gold, as if communal life itself were a fragile lantern held up to darkness. The composition orchestrates a tension between vast, impersonal sprawl and intimate human clusters, suggesting how dignity and togetherness persist even when the environment feels perpetually unfinished. In this unstable light, the work reads as a quiet meditation on resilience—on communities that cohere not by certainty, but by shared warmth amid encroaching shadow.
