This work stages an intimate folkloric tableau within a ritualized architecture of borders, where the central couple—rendered in wiry, elongated line—reads like a memory etched into earthen pigment. The warm ochres and soot-like blacks create a chiaroscuro of hearth and night, while the surrounding trees, pennant motifs, and rhythmic marks operate as protective emblems, turning domestic space into ceremony. By compressing the figures into a framed “inner shrine,” the composition suggests love not as spectacle but as inheritance—something carried, repeated, and safeguarded by pattern, community, and place.
