Description
A monumental copper coin dominates the field like a relic of authority, its laurel-wreathed emblem and gas-mask visage turning the promise of “world” into a cautionary seal of survival and control. Against the matte, bruised blue ground, the torn vertical band reads as a rupture in history—an exposed seam where private economies and collective memory leak through. The smaller coins drift upward like constellations or spent tokens, their scattered glints suggesting both aspiration and erosion, as if value itself is being re-counted in the shadow of uncertainty. In this tension between polished insignia and scarred surface, the work stages a quiet indictment of how preservation, prestige, and peril can share the same metallic shine.
