Description
A monochrome face emerges like a remembered apparition from a riot of winged fragments, its stillness held in suspension by a surrounding vortex of butterflies and fractured, leaf-like planes. The crimson bindi becomes a single, declarative point of heat—part wound, part blessing—anchoring the composition’s drift between tenderness and unrest. Warm ochres and reds press inward while deep blacks feather outward, creating a chiaroscuro of psyche rather than place, as if metamorphosis is happening not in nature but in consciousness. The circular frame reads as both halo and enclosure, suggesting identity as something simultaneously protected, mythic, and perpetually in flight.
