Description
Set against a violet dusk, the work stages a theatre of silhouettes where trees, boats, and domed cages become emblems of containment and passage, their hard black contours slicing the scene into uneasy compartments. Mask-like faces—one captive within a cage, another drifting in the foreground—suggest identities that are performed, hidden, and traded between observer and observed, while flashes of acid yellow and red flare like alarms across the quiet field of purple. The flattened, printlike planes deny natural depth, turning space into a psychological map in which escape routes exist only as ladders of imagination. What lingers is a tension between refuge and trap, as if the landscape itself were a mind trying to reconcile innocence with surveillance.
