This work assembles the landscape as a memory rather than a view—strata of ochre, umber, and moss green pressed together like sedimented time, with a pale central plane that reads as both refuge and erasure. The composition moves in weighted horizontal bands, yet the jagged, palette-knife texture breaks certainty, turning each ridge into a tactile hesitation between stability and fracture. Light is not painted as illumination but as abrasion: it scuffs across the surface, revealing buried warmth and suggesting that place is built from accumulation, weathering, and quiet resilience.
