REVIEWS ABOUT ME AND MY PAINTING
I am PINAKI RANJAN BERA. I am from a remote village named Bakulda situated in Medinipur (East) district in West Bengal. Having been brought up in the lap of nature, I always shared a special relationship with it. I believe nature yields hidden fruits – beautiful patterns and basic relations that make our world. These and the adventures of the human mind in discovering them seem to me a great unharvested source of wonder for art.
I started my schooling from my village. During this period I used to watch my father painting on paper followed by my elder brother who also enthused interest in art. With an atmosphere filled with colour and art I realized that I can express my inner self through painting. Hence, I decided to choose art as my life’s goal. I passed BFA (Bachelor in Fine Arts) from Khairagarh University, Chhattisgarh. Then I completed my MFA (Masters in Fine Arts) from Rabindra Bharati University, Kolkata, West Bengal winning a gold medal.
ABOUT MY PAINTING:
Nature is God’s creation and his reflection. The beauty of nature mesmerizes everybody that's why when we see natural beauty, we forget all our worries. Lush green meadows, snow-peaked mountains, beautiful flowers, singing rivers and tempestuous oceans, sun-kissed beaches and clouds serenading in the sky are incredible and cannot be described in words.
Inanimate objects also have been given a form and figure by Nature which no sculptor can copy. Every changing season paints the sky and earth in new hues and gives birth to a new poetry and painting every day.
This is the only reason that I always choose nature as the theme of my painting. I try to give it a form as I see in my mind. Sometimes, I try to entwine nature with sex because both are fountains of emotions.“Art is not what you see, but what you make others see” said, Edgar Degas. While painting I always try and follow these words which enhance my passion for art.
