Chethan Mandyam Chakravarthy
I had the privilege of studying under Nadoja.(late)Sri.R.M.Hadpad and graduated as an artist (Drawing and Painting) from Ken School of Art, in 2004. Since 2003, I have been involved in several art exhibitions in Bangalore. If you value an Art-work, you are valuing an artist's time and money that went in learning art, years of experience, talent and perfection. I usually do Portraits with Charcoal where you'll see prominence given to aesthetics.
Chethan.M.C was born in Mysooru, Karnataka, India on 9th October, 1979. He was trained in Art-Pottery and Ceramic-Glazing in the years 1996-1997 in Bangalore. In 1999, he joined Ken School of Art where he learnt Academic Art Skills like Realistic Life-study Portraitures and Life-studies in almost all the media. He Graduated from Ken School of Art with a Government Diploma (Drawing and Painting) and joined Arena Multimedia for an Advanced Diploma in Multimedia in 2004. Later in 2006, he worked as an Animator/graphic-designer for various organizations.
It was (late)Nadoja.Sri.R.M.Hadpad’s guidance and blessings, Chethan started his studies as an art-student in 1999. Through Sri.R.M.Hadpad, Chethan made it a habit to visit each and every Art-exhibition that was being held in the Art-Galleries in Bengaluru especially the galleries of Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath. Sri.R.M.Hadpad’s son, Sri.Umesh Hadpad and his nephew, Sri.Ravindra Hadpad have done a monumental job in up-bringing Chethan as a confident Art-practitioner.
Today, Chethan takes inspiration from many of the styles he had viewed as a child in New Delhi as well as from what he was exposed to in Bengalooru during his studies. He is good at portraiture and has been making portraits since a long time. Later as his mentor recognized his skills at composing a design and asked him to focus and balance his creative thinking with contemporary art, and to grow-out of the four corners of realism. He had a fair share of ideas on the Design principles but, certain artists made him think more seriously towards this aspect and this prompted him to employ them in his later works. Chethan has also designed and executed Murals in residential and office buildings. Recently in February, 2015, Chethan participated in a Karnataka Lalitkala Academy sponsored painting exhibition : Thingala Chitra. He has participated in several group exhibitions in Bengalooru from 2003 till 2015 and this includes Cartoon exhibition in 2009-10. Today, Chethan teaches Drawing, Painting and Clay-modeling at his residence.
